is arguably the greatest player in Dallas Mavericks history. After a great
college career at Kansas State, he was a first-round draft choice (ninth overall) by the Mavericks in 1981. He spent 11
seasons with the Mavericks before being traded to the New York Knicks in 1992.
During his career in Dallas, Blackman was a four-time NBA All-Star, scored 16,643 points and set seven team records. Blackman
retired from professional basketball in 1995. Blackman is one of just two Mavericks players to have his number (22) retired
and is in his fourth season as the Mavericks Director of Player Development. Rolando has four children and resides in Plano, Texas.
